Introduction Course

This 2-day course is for beginners and paddlers who may be out of practice. It is an introductory course where you will learn the basic skills to paddle a variety of craft. We give novice and complete beginners a comprehensive introduction to the spot. On Days 1 and 2, we look at basic handling skills as well as getting in and out safely and what to do in the event of a capsize. On Day 3 we complete a trip, teaching you the skills and knowledge to keep yourself and your friends/family safe when you venture on a longer journey.
For those that are interested in British Canoeing awards, this 2 day course far exceeds the elements required for the 1 Star award and acts as an introduction to the skills required for the 2 Star award.

Our Introduction course can be taken in either a kayak or a canoe.

Prerequisites:
No experience necessary.
Craft:
We give you the opportunity to try out a range of kayaks or canoes including general purpose closed cockpit, play boats and sit on tops.
